Disclosure policy

Effective October 14, 2026

This policy says how creators must tell people that content is promotional. It is part of the agreement you accept when you create a creator account on Famoka. It applies to everything you share to earn on Famoka, wherever you share it.

1. Why this matters

People have a right to know when they are being sold to. The rules differ by country, but they point the same way. This policy is written around the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, the UK Advertising Standards Authority's and Competition and Markets Authority's guidance (the CMA can fine businesses directly under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, since 6 April 2025), and the EU's Unfair Commercial Practices Directive. Those are the rules we know about. You are responsible for following the law where you and your audience are.

2. What you must do

  1. Tell your audience clearly whenever you may earn money, receive free products or otherwise benefit from what you share, including commission on sales made through your Famoka links and codes.
  2. Put the disclosure at the start of the post or caption, or on screen and out loud at the start of a video or audio. Don't bury it among hashtags or links or behind a "more" button.
  3. Use plain words: "Ad", or "Ad: I earn a commission if you buy through this link". Where the platform has a paid-partnership tool, use it and also write "Ad".
  4. Make the disclosure easy to see on the device and format people use: in a story, a short video, a podcast, a newsletter or a link in a profile.
  5. Repeat the disclosure each time. One disclosure on a profile isn't enough for each post.
  6. Don't say or suggest that a link, code or recommendation is not promotional when it is.

3. What we do

  1. Everything we generate for you to share (captions, link pages, storefronts and the pages behind your links) carries a clear ad label at the start. You must keep it.
  2. We don't offer a way to hide or shorten the label.
  3. We give you the wording to use and explain what each platform expects. If a rule for a platform is unclear, ask us at [email protected].

4. No fake activity

  1. Don't fake reviews, testimonials, followers, engagement or customers. Don't pretend to have used a product you haven't.
  2. Don't invent or imply earnings. Don't tell people what you or others earn through Famoka, and don't use screenshots of earnings that aren't yours.
  3. Don't say a product does something unless you know it does. Don't repeat claims a brand gives you without checking them.
  4. Seeded creators on Famoka are real people doing real paid work. We never fake creators, reviews, earnings or counts, and you must not either.

5. Free products and gifts

If a brand sent you a product, paid you, or gave you something else of value, say so, even if you aren't paid on a sale.

6. Checking and consequences

  1. We may check what you share. If it doesn't follow this policy we can ask you to change it, remove your links or codes, or suspend your account.
  2. Money you have earned is withheld only for confirmed fraud or a breach of the terms, decided by a person, with a reason and a way to appeal, as the Creator terms describe.

7. Changes and contact

When we publish a new version of this policy we ask you to accept it again before you create links or take other actions that depend on it. Questions: [email protected].
